Liverpool Plains Shire Council is developing a new Destination Management Plan and Economic Development Strategy, that together will pave the way for future growth, investment, and visitation to the Liverpool Plains Shire.

Council has engaged consultants, SC Lennon & Associates, to support us in preparing our new Destination Management Plan (DMP) and Economic Development Strategy. When complete, these separate but related strategies will guide Council's destination management and economic development priorities and actions over the next five years.

We are developing these two strategies concurrently, as there is a strong alignment between their respective objectives. The DMP aims to provide a clear, measurable and achievable strategy to guide the development of the Liverpool Plains Shire's visitor economy, including growing visitor numbers and maximising visitor spend. Similarly, the Economic Development Strategy aims to provide a clear, measurable and achievable plan to develop our economy, attract investment, support industry diversification, and enable job creation and workforce growth.

Over the second half of 2025, we will be partnering with community, industry and government stakeholders to shape our DMP and Economic Development Strategy.

Consultation opportunities will include a community survey, as well as targeted stakeholder engagement with business associations, government agencies, tourism operators, and community groups.

Complete our survey

Liverpool Plains Shire Council is preparing a new DMP and Economic Development Strategy and is seeking community input to help inform its strategic priorities for economic development and tourism over the next five years. The project is designed to deliver on our commitment to promoting prosperity, through the preparation of two separate but related strategies that are visionary, practical and evidence-based.

We invite all local residents, business owners and tourism operators to undertake a short survey to help identify priorities and opportunities for economic development and tourism. It is expected that the survey will take between five and 10 minutes to complete and the first couple of questions will be asking a little bit about yourself (which will not identify you).
